Rich has been at Sunset Funeral Home for 27 years. Rich has three boys and is currently living in Danville, Illinois with his wife Jill. Rich can be found spending time with his family, watching NASCAR Racing, football, fishing, boating, and traveling.

Linda has over 28 years at Sunset Funeral Home. She lives in Danville, Illinois, where she can be found spending time with her grandchildren, horseback riding, and spending time outdoors.

Donna (Darby) Walthall Chief Financial Officer

Donna has been a part of the scene here at Sunset Funeral Home for 35 years. She and her husband, Jim live in Mahomet, Illinois. Her hobbies include laying out by the pool, collecting miniature shoes, she is an avid University of Illinois football and basketball fan and an Indianapolis Colts fan she also enjoys spending time with her family.

Lindsey represents the fourth generation of the Darby family to work in funeral service. She has been working for the family business since 2002 and began full time after graduating from Illinois College in May of 2009. She and her husband, Jason their twin sons Caden and Logan, third son, Dayton and daughter, Kennedy live in Mahomet, Illinois. Lindsey enjoys shopping, watching/playing sports, spending time with her family and beagle, Bailey.

Jason has been with Sunset Funeral Home since October of 2009. He and his wife, Lindsey twin sons Caden and Logan, third son, Dayton and daughter, Kennedy live in Mahomet, Illinois. Jason can be found either playing or watching sports, enjoys spending time outdoors and spending time with his family and beagle, Bailey.

He has been working for the family business since 2005 and began full time after graduating from Illinois State University in May of 2012. He currently resides in Danville, Illinois, with his wife, Keri and daughter, Sawyer. He can be found watching and playing basketball and football, swimming, boating, spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, and traveling.

Erin (Walthall) Brodbeck, LCSW, CT Director of Grief Services, Center for Loss & Healing

Erin represents the fourth generation of the Darby family to work in funeral service. She has been working for the family business since 2002 and began full time in 2013 after working 4 years as a school and medical social worker. Erin received her BA in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. She and her husband, Ben, daughter, Ellie and their pug, Lola live in Mahomet, Illinois. In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, organizing projects and is a freelance makeup artist.

Keri joined the Sunset staff in March of 2014. She is from Rossville, IL and currently resides in Danville, IL with her husband Ethan, daughter Sawyer and their dog, Stella. In her spare time Keri enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her friends and family.

Ross represents the fourth generation of the Darby family to work in funeral service. He has been working for the family business since 2010 and began full time after graduating from the University of Illinois in May of 2015. He currently resides in Danville, Illinois, with his wife Austin where he can be found working on his “Honey-Do-List”, playing outside with his dog Sadie or binge watching some Netflix.

Austin joined the Sunset staff in October of 2014. She is from Bismarck, IL and currently resides in Danville, IL with her husband Ross Darby. Austin has her cosmetology degree from Regency Beauty Institute. In her spare time Austin enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and fur baby Sadie. She also enjoys the outdoors and practicing cosmetology.

Drew is a native of the Quad Cities, and moved to the area following his graduation from Southern Illinois University. He began his career in funeral service in 1993 as an apprentice with Sunset Funeral Homes, and has spent his entire career with the Sunset team. He currently resides in Cayuga, Indiana with his three sons, Austin, Isaiah, and Owen. When not working, Drew enjoys hunting, playing basketball, golfing, and anything to do with the outdoors.

Tammy has been with Sunset Funeral Home since 1993. She and her husband, Shane reside in Danville, Illinois, where she can be found scrapbooking, doing crafts and spending time with her family and their animal companions. Tammy is also the grandma to her beautiful granddaughters, Melita and Lorelai and grandson, Patrick.

Anne joined the Sunset team in April 2012. She currently resides in Oakwood, Illinois with her husband, Greg and two sons Conor and Gavin. On her off time she enjoys spending time with her family, beekeeping and sharing the honey and homemade beeswax lip balm with friends and family. Anne also enjoys figure skating She teaches a basic skills class to beginner figure skaters.

Brad began his time at Sunset in 2007 after earning his Bachelor’s in Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He has two sons, Max and Jack, and currently resides in Covington, IN with his family. Brad enjoys all things nerd, including gaming of all kinds, comics, and Doctor Who.  He also likes the outdoors and camping, movies and television, and spending time with his boys.

Justin joined the staff at Sunset Funeral Home in July of 2011. He graduated from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL in 2010 with his associates in applied science-mortuary science. His hobbies include sports, boating, spending time with his two German Shepherds, Tribe and Trace, hunting and fishing. Justin is also an avid Cardinals and Chicago Bears Fan.

Marinna Mendoza, also known as Mina, joined the staff at Sunset Funeral Home in 2017 following her internship through Southern Illinois University; where she received her Bachelors in Mortuary Science. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and two dogs Bruce and Roma. She also enjoys watching and reading about true crime, working out, and rooting for her favorite teams the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs.

Mary joined the staff at Sunset Memorial Park in May of 1995. She and her husband, Ron currently reside in Bismarck, Illinois with their two daughters Parker and Addison. She can be found spending time with her family, gardening, or out for a Sunday drive in their Model T. Mary is also a University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener.

 Brandon has moved from working in our plant to working on the cemetery grounds in the fall of 2011. He has been with us since May 29th, 2006. He is from and currently lives in Westville, IL.

Pastor Blue has been with Sunset Funeral Home since 1995. He and his wife,Christinia currently reside in Georgetown, Illinois, and have the joy of spending time with their three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When not spending time with his extended family, he enjoys quiet hours reading the Bible, doing yard work and watching old westerns.

Tom has been with Sunset Funeral Home since 2014. He is from Potomac, Illinois and currently resides in Potomac. He has three children, Amy, Anne and Abby. Tom is an avid reader. He enjoys writing short stories although he has never published them. He was a history teacher in his younger days. He claims he is a master of “worthless information”; meaning he is quite the conversationist, and his brain truly houses interesting facts and true stories that he brings to life through his storytelling.

 Brandon has moved from working in our plant to working on the cemetery grounds in the fall of 2011. He has been with us since May 29th, 2006. He is from and currently lives in Westville, IL.

Pastor Blue has been with Sunset Funeral Home since 1995. He and his wife,Christinia currently reside in Georgetown, Illinois, and have the joy of spending time with their three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When not spending time with his extended family, he enjoys quiet hours reading the Bible, doing yard work and watching old westerns.

Currently Bob lives in Danville, Illinois, and when he's not help families here at Sunset Funeral Home, you can find him fishing, golfing, or volunteering with local organizations. He also loves to travel.

He is a gospel concert organizer, and when he's not working at the funeral home or in this position, he enjoys watching sports, working at his computer, and spending time with family.

Tom has been with Sunset Funeral Home since 2014. He is from Potomac, Illinois and currently resides in Potomac. He has three children, Amy, Anne and Abby. Tom is an avid reader. He enjoys writing short stories although he has never published them. He was a history teacher in his younger days. He claims he is a master of “worthless information”; meaning he is quite the conversationist, and his brain truly houses interesting facts and true stories that he brings to life through his storytelling.
